S: Organized Crime and World Politics - WS 2023/24

Modern organized crime is a complex phenomenon which frequently intersects with other areas of study in International Relations, such as security studies, conflict studies, and international political economy. In this course, a conceptual introduction is followed by several case studies on different criminal organizations. Participants will learn how to evaluate organized crime actors in terms of their social and international context, their capabilities and interests, and their future evolution.
