S: Ethnographic Fieldwork in Political Science and International Relations - WS 2023/24

The course provides a hands-on introduction to ethnographic methods in political science and international relations. It is designed to introduce students to key methods of data generation (participant observation and interviews) as well as the methodological and ethical challenges in their use. The seminar discusses key concepts and tools such as ethnographic sensibility, positionality, reflexivity, thick description, and research ethics. Extensive practical exercises help bridge the gap between theory and practice
